Since already 27 years, every April a real army of pizza makers and chefs from all over the world gets ready to reach Parma and attend the World Pizza Championship.
This is the most important international event dedicated to pizza, the most representative and beloved symbol of Made in Italy!
Enrolments to this highly expected event start from December 1st, 2018. The event will be held at Palacassa in Parma, from April 9th 11th, 2019.
Pizza makers and chefs will be coming from all over the world to compete in 12 different categories, belonging to the baking techniques or to the special skills A real war made of flour, tomato and mozzarella shots, with the final goal to conquer the title of 2019 Pizza World Champion.
The most important competitions are the STG Neapolitan pizza, pizza in pan, gluten free pizza and the pizza by the meter (Roman style pizza), the latter being a new entry of last year event.
Another renowned competition is duo pizza, which is the union of two different professionals, a chef and a pizza maker, representing the marriage between cuisine and pizza. A special highlight will also be for the “Heinz Beck Trophy – First Courses in Pizzeria”, which is the competition awarding the most creative and innovative first courses found in restaurants pizzerias.
As every year, Gi.Metal will be the technical sponsor of the Championship, side by side with the pizza makers throughout the competitions.
We will support at our best all the participants with our famous blue-handle equipment.
Taste, look, creativity and fastness will be the fundamental features to decide for the winner.
